IMO Emergency Exit Left Sign – ES0001
This emergency exit left sign shows the running-man pictogram exiting through a doorway to the left, directing crew and passengers along the escape route in that direction. Paired with the mirrored right-facing version, it forms one half of the standard directional set used to build a continuous, unambiguous chain of guidance toward the nearest safe exit.
Because the running-man symbol is recognised internationally regardless of language, this emergency exit left sign works equally well on a vessel crewed by people from many different nationalities. It is positioned at doorways, junctions, and turns along the escape route so that anyone moving through the space, even somewhere unfamiliar, can follow the correct path on sight alone.
As with the rest of the vessel’s escape route signage, this emergency exit left sign is manufactured from photoluminescent film that charges under ambient lighting and continues glowing for hours during a blackout, keeping the directional chain intact when smoke or a power failure would otherwise make it unreadable.
